Meet Fabric: Clinical automation for more human care

We are thrilled to introduce our new identity, Fabric. More than just a name, Fabric embodies our team’s dedication and our intelligent care enablement system that powers healthcare to move faster, work smarter, and deliver better care.

Fabric reflects our commitment to interweave diverse healthcare services to create a cohesive and comprehensive care experience for patients and providers. As we evolve, we remain committed to our mission of powering boundless care through seamless, intuitive experiences.

Our journey to Fabric

Florence was formed in 2021 to drive efficiency within physical points of care through virtual first solutions. We increased clinical capacity within emergency departments by reducing administrative work and automating clinical workflows––reducing total length of stay and patients that leave without being seen.

Because tackling healthcare’s greatest challenges, particularly clinical capacity, requires a multifaceted approach, Florence acquired Zipnosis, the leader in asynchronous virtual care, in April 2023. By expanding our capabilities beyond hospital walls, we have grown into a versatile healthcare technology company that unifies virtual and in-person care across intake, triage, routing, and treatment.

In January 2024, we made another strategic acquisition to create more capacity to care: GYANT.

New: Conversational AI

We are excited to add a conversational AI component to our product offering. As of January 2024, we have acquired GYANT, a conversational AI tool that expands our Digital Front Door® capabilities by automating patient navigation and scheduling to improve access and maximize existing clinical capacity.

The Virtual Care Suite

Fabric’s Virtual Care Suite, formerly Zipnosis, has already powered more than 4.7 million encounters. This white-labeled platform will continue to support asynchronous adaptive interviews, video visits, and chat and telephone consultations, all under the new, Fabric brand.

Leveraging the power of async-first technology, our Virtual Care Suite offers unmatched advantages.

In-Person Care Suite

Our technology also plays a crucial role in supporting in-person care. The In-person Care Suite streamlines data collection during emergency, surgical, and urgent care visits, reducing redundant tasks and accelerating care delivery. Expanding our in-person capabilities is part of our larger effort to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate care, whether virtual or face-to-face, while optimizing clinical efficiency.

Loom: Clinical Intelligence and Automation

The proprietary clinical intelligence engine that seamlessly integrates our Virtual Care Suite, In-Person Care Suite, and conversational AI now has a name: Loom. Loom is the clinical content engine and expert system that drives our care enablement platform, patient and provider interactions, and innovation at Fabric. We’ve been building and expanding upon this robust patient intake and information processing system since Zipnosis launched.

Engineered to enhance clinical workflows, Loom automates 99% of administrative tasks in virtual settings, empowering healthcare providers to increase their efficiency up to tenfold. In physical points of care, Loom can increase efficiency by 200%, reducing time-consuming steps that delay rooming to discharge and checkout.

Loom’s physician-curated expert system and cutting-edge technology are based on clinical best practices and maintained by Fabric’s team of MDs, NPs, and RNs. It incorporates invaluable insights from our Clinical Quality Advisory Council, a group of 14 chief medical officers and medical directors, while leveraging advanced conversational AI to refine and streamline healthcare processes. This strategic integration not only enhances efficiency but also upholds the highest standards of patient care.

Seamless EHR Integrations

Fabric offers seamless integrations with  Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and clinical workflows to improve clinician efficiency and reduce redundant tasks. Our consumer-grade experiences automate admin and clinical work while complementing existing EHRs with:

  • Streamlined registration and intake, encounter creation, and notes integrations to reduce administrative burden and eliminate duplicate documentation
  • Unified clinical symptom gathering, triage, routing, and navigation across in-person and virtual settings
  • Patient record reading, writing, and matching within the EHR
  • Flexible scheduling for incoming and outgoing appointment schedules, automated lab orders, and billing

Fabric: The solution to today’s greatest care challenges

Now more than ever, health systems and clinics need solutions that streamline efficiency and drive clinical capacity. The healthcare industry is facing significant headwinds, including a projected shortfall of over 3.2 million healthcare workers in the U.S. by 20261 and a 13% decline in healthcare productivity2, despite expanding healthcare technology budgets.

Meanwhile, health systems are also facing worsening patient experiences and financial pressures. There has been a 19% increase in adverse events3 driven by overwork and burnout, highlighting a critical need to improve provider experience and efficiency to improve patient care and outcomes. Financially, the industry is facing a downturn, with profit margins decreasing by 11% since 20204 and a stark 31% between 2019 and 20225.

The Fabric care enablement system is uniquely positioned to address these multifaceted challenges, maximizing clinical capacity to reduce strain on providers while increasing profitability and patient satisfaction.

A Commitment to Continuous Growth

The evolution to Fabric is more than a name change—it reflects our growth, goals, and commitment to improving, rather than disrupting, the existing healthcare landscape. We're proud of how far we’ve come and excited to embark on this new chapter as Fabric, with a name that truly represents the breadth and depth of our offerings.

Whether you've been with us from the start or are just learning about us, we welcome you on this exciting journey. As Fabric, we are more committed than ever to our vision of care for everyone, everywhere.
