MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Zipnosis, a leading virtual care company, today announced that Zipnosis’ application and workstations have earned CSF Certified status for information security by HITRUST. Through this certification, Zipnosis’ platform underwent rigorous testing to ensure it meets healthcare industry-defined requirements to appropriately manage risk to sensitive, private health information and protect health systems’ patient data records.

In an industry with continuous high-profile data breaches and a proliferation of cybercrime, it is increasingly vital for healthcare IT companies to display commitment to data security and protecting patient records. The HITRUST CSF Certification enables organizations to demonstrate that technology and services meet industry-defined requirements and key regulations, as well as confirms the organization is appropriately managing risk.

“Information security has always been a top priority for our organization,” said the chief information security officer for Zipnosis. “The HITRUST CSF Certification process has taken that focus to the next level, giving us a framework to harmonize IT and security best practices to protect our customers and their patients.”

The HITRUST CSF Certification combines federal and state regulations, standards and industry-specific requirements. It incorporates a risk-based approach to help organizations address the challenging information security landscape through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.

“HITRUST sets the gold standard for information security controls in the healthcare industry,” says Zipnosis CTO. “The HITRUST CSF has become the information protection framework for the health care industry, and the CSF Assurance program is bringing a new level of effectiveness and efficiency to third-party assurance,” said Ken Vander Wal, Chief Compliance Officer, HITRUST. “The HITRUST CSF Certification is now the benchmark that organizations required to safeguard PHI are measured against with regards to information protection.”

Zipnosis will be showcasing its technology in booth #10328 at the 2018 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition taking place March 5-9 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, NV.
