In this vlog, I talk about load management and why it is so important—especially in healthcare.

I know we’re just getting into those cool, crisp days of fall but let’s flash forward to the quintessential Minnesota snowy winter day. I know, I know, it’s too soon to think about that, but just bear with me for this example…

It’s cold, blustery, and the snow is coming down like crazy. Unfortunately, even this kind of weather doesn’t stop the need for care—there are patients out there who need to be seen by a provider (it is flu season after all). Meanwhile, there are providers in-clinic that might not have patients coming in to see them, yet they still want a chance to be productive, clear cases, and generate revenue for their health system. This a perfect scenario where load management through virtual care really can have a positive impact for health systems—patients can be seen where they are at (home) and providers still can have a positive impact on clinical efficiency while boosting the bottom line.

What we have experienced with COVID-19 is also a classic case of load management in action. When done right, it’s where virtual care, what we’re doing at Zipnosis, can really be a powerful tool to help balance patient demand and load across a health system.
